Light installations in Prometheus cave in Georgia

  Prometheus cave (other name - Kumistavi) was found in 1984 in Imerety's Georgian region by the staff of Institute of geography. So unusual name in honor of the legendary Ancient Greek hero to a place was given by the president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili according to whom Prometheus was chained to mountains approximately in this area. The tourist route in a grotto 1600 meters long was created only few years ago.

Kumistavi - one of the latest sights and a nature sanctuary of Georgia; its improvement began in 2010. Here equipped excursion tracks with hand-rail and information plates throughout all route. Nowadays illuminated stalactites and stalagmites attract hundreds tourists to Imeretiya. Excursion on a grotto is accompanied by sound and lighting effects, creating in halls the atmosphere of fantastic movies. Over decorating of the territory with a radius of three kilometers round a cave, designers from Germany worked. At the exit from a cave the monument to the local which on own initiative during several tens years protected natural sight from vandals is established.

In a cave during the whole year constant temperature in 14 degrees above zero therefore in the summer here it is pleasant to hide from a heat remains, and in winter months - to be warmed.
