Georgia Monument to "Vakhtang Gorgasali"

Vakhtang I Gorgasali Kartliya's tsar, lived in the V century at its board there was an association of Georgia, was the founder of Tbilisi, and also the politician who much has made for prosperity of Georgia.
Nickname Gorgasal (letters. Volchegolovy) it was given it by Persians. As the legend says, the tsar had a helmet on which the head of a wolf was in front represented, and behind - a lion. Having caught sight of a helmet with images of a wolf and a lion, Persians started shouting each other: "Silly women аз горгасар" (beware of the wolf head).
The monument to Vakhtang Gorgasali (sculptor E.Amashukeli), was established in 1970 on the metekhsky rock which to be on the rocky left river bank of the Chicken.
It surprisingly organically entered into a landscape of the center of old Tbilisi. The monument as if is merged with Wednesday. Pedestal-black basalt. The statue is established on a stone platform near the ancient temple Metekhi.
